Together with the Khmer language teacher, we organized a contest for all Baphnom High School students, where they were tasked with creating a drawing or painting along with a Khmer text analysis of their design. The theme of the contest was "The benefits of studying." Each class submitted one design and one Khmer reflection as a collective effort.

Incorporating drawing alongside language proficiency in a high school environment offers multifaceted benefits that enrich students' learning experiences. Firstly, blending these two disciplines encourages interdisciplinary thinking, allowing students to explore connections between visual expression and linguistic communication. This approach nurtures creativity and divergent thinking, fostering a holistic understanding of concepts and encouraging innovative problem-solving skills. Additionally, integrating drawing into language learning provides alternative modes of expression for students with diverse learning styles, enhancing comprehension and engagement. Moreover, practicing both drawing and language proficiency simultaneously promotes cultural appreciation and understanding, as students explore visual representations of linguistic concepts and themes from different cultures. Overall, the synergy between drawing and language proficiency cultivates well-rounded individuals with enhanced cognitive abilities, artistic expression, and linguistic competence, preparing them for success in an increasingly interconnected and visually oriented world.

All the submissions were displayed on the walls with the objective of creating an art exhibition for the entire school. The Khmer language teacher evaluated and scored the Khmer reflections, while I, as the English teacher, assessed the artistic skills demonstrated in each design.

In parallel, always seeking opportunities to put technology literacy into practice, we teachers created a poll where students themselves could vote and select the winners.

The winners received a notebook, a few pencils and pens, a ruler, a sharpener, color pencils, and other gifts.
